Venues NSW is currently working with the NSW Government to deliver two projects identified within the NSW Stadia Strategy – construction of the new Western Sydney Stadium and the proposed Stadium Australia Redevelopment.

  • Planning investment that will allow NSW to competitively bid for events, such as the Rugby World Cup 2027 and FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023
  • Investing in sporting and cultural infrastructure to activate the areas surrounding each stadium and create a truly world-class entertainment precincts and unrivalled spectator experiences
  • Western Sydney Stadium will feature the steepest seats in the country and the best sightlines and allow fans will be closer to the action than ever before
  • At Stadium Australia, reconfiguration of the venue for rectangular sports and reducing the viewing distance to the field of play to secure its future as a generator of economic activity
  • Seating in the current lower and middle tiers of ANZ Stadium will be up to 40 metres closer to the field of play and an external façade to the north opened to create a vibrant hub for visitors
  • Investment plans that align with the NSW Government’s Greater Parramatta to Sydney Olympic Peninsula (GPOP) area strategies, particularly the Sydney Olympic Park Masterplan and planned transport investment, including light rail and Metro West
